Welcome to 8th Grade Science!!
I am looking forward to my twelfth year teaching. It seems so long ago that I was working on my undergraduate in Elementary Education with minors in math, science, and reading at Eastern Michigan University. Since then, I have also earned a Middle Grade Education Masters with a concentration in science as well as my School Administration Masters from Appalachian State University.
I enjoy being able to read books from all genres, but especially historical fiction and mystery type books. The last book I read was, "Into the Water" by Paul Hawkins. I have a classroom library where students may check out books and read anytime. Just let me know when you want me to unlock the cabinets. I also like to play video games with my children. They have become good at MarioKart 8 and Minecraft.
We are going to have a great 2017-18 school year! We are going to learn a lot about different science topics from chemistry to water quality to Earth's history. There is something for everyone in the 8th grade science curriculum. We will explore science through hands-on activities, virtual simulations/labs, and good ole fashion notes.
