All About Me
I am currently serving as 8th Grade Science Teacher at Newton-Conover Middle School. Previously I served as a 6th Grade Science and English Language Arts teacher at Iredell Charter Academy in Troutman, North Carolina. Before that I served as a teacher at Thomasville Middle School where I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science in addition to 6th grade social studies. Previous to teaching at Thomasville Middle School, I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science at Troutman Middle School. I have attended Foundations of Reading Workshop along with Problem-Based Learning workshop at Wake Forest. In addition, I have had training in SIOP, BPiS, and RTI/MTSS. I earned a B.A. in History from UNCC in 2005 after which I got his Teaching Certification through Grad classes at UNCC. My previous experience before teaching includes serving in the North Carolina National Guard from 1985-1992 where I was trained as a front-line Medic. During my service in the Guard I worked in various manufacturing working my way up to becoming a Production-Control Manager and Supervisor. I enjoy hiking and camping in the mountains, spending time with my wife Anita and our Labrador Retrievers.
