Hello Red Devil Families!

I am excited to begin another year as Assistant Principal at Newton-Conover Middle School.  It is such a blessing to serve the students and families in this community. I absolutely love middle school and all of the wonders and challenges of early adolescence! I believe in the mission and vision of Newton-Conover City Schools. I am looking forward to leading even more innovation in the middle school as we prepare our students for their future.

This is my 19th year in education. I am a graduate of Crest High School in Shelby, NC. I was a NC Teaching Fellow and a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Middle Grades Education in 2004. I began my career teaching middle school language arts and social studies. I received my National Board Certification in 2008 and renewed in 2018. I earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University in 2013. In addition to teaching 6th-8th grades, I've also been an elementary AIG Coordinator and Instructional Coach at the elementary and middle levels. My husband, Jonathan, and I live in Hickory with our two children. In my free time, I enjoy reading, camping, hiking, and shopping.
