Weekly Announcement January 20th -24th

Good afternoon Red Devil Family.

We hope that you are enjoying your weekend. Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.

Our Spring PRIDE card ceremony will be held on February 7th. Students receiving a PRIDE card for this semester will receive an invitation to bring home for you to attend.

Continue to send in money to pay for your child's cafeteria balance. Cafeteria balances must be up to date in order to participate in upcoming dances and school events. Please contact the school if you are unsure of your child's cafeteria debt. If there are any parents, businesses, or organizations that would like to assist in paying off cafeteria fees, please contact the main office for more information.

NCMS will host the district Spelling Bee on January 24th starting at 9:30 am.

In athletics, basketball will be at home on Tuesday, January 21 to take on Mill Creek, while wrestling will be away. On Thursday, January 23rd, wrestling will be home to take on Arndt, while basketball will be away.

Weekly Announcement Jan. 13-17th

Good afternoon Red Devil family.

We hope that each of you had a wonderful week back from break. Just a reminder report cards went home this past Friday. If you have any questions about your child's performance, please contact the school.

Next week, students will be taking Case 21 assessments. These assessments will be a good gauge on how your child is progressing through grade-level standards. We encourage students to be at school each day and to get plenty of rest and eat a healthy breakfast.

Students that are interested in MakerSpace will need to plan to meet after school on Monday, January 13th until 4:15. The focus for our next maker space will be on robots.
We are fortunate to have a very large number of amazing students being recognized for excellent work. We need assistance providing lots doughnuts and juice for PRIDE card ceremony receptions this winter. If you can help, please call or email Katrina Palozzi 464-4421 or katrina.palozzi@n-ccs.org

In athletics, we will have a home wrestling match on Tuesday versus Jacob's Fork while basketball will be away. On Thursday, basketball will be home to take on Grandview while wrestling will be away.

Weekly Announcement January 6th-10th

Good day Red Devil family and Happy New Year!

We hope that you have enjoyed your break. As we return back to school on January 6th, we would like to remind parents that we are starting the 3rd 9 weeks. Students will receive updated schedules to reflect the change in their EA classes.

Report cards are scheduled to go home on Friday, January 10th. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's academic progress.

There has been an update to our No Activity policy. In addition to the previously established guidelines, students that have 6 or more unexcused absences per 9 weeks will be added to the No Activity list. This will go into effect starting January 6th. A letter will be sent home reflecting the updated policy. Please contact the school if you have any questions.

We are asking that parents please send in money for any cafeteria fees that your child may owe. It is not too late to turn in Free and Reduced lunch applications. Please contact the office if you have any questions.

In athletics news, basketball will play at home on Tuesday, January 7th versus Riverbend while wrestling will be away. On Thursday, basketball will play away at Northview while wrestling will be at home.

Weekly Announcements for December 16th-December 20th

Good afternoon Red Devil family.

Here are your announcements for the week of December 16th through December 20th.

Yearbooks are on sale for $35 with Ms. Bova or online at Jostensyearbooks.com. 8th grade parents, baby ads and recognition ads are on sale now until January 20th. Please visit Jostensyearbooks.com or our link on the school website to purchase an ad in the yearbook for your child or grandchild."

December 20th is pajama day. Students may pay $1 to wear pajamas but they must meet the dress code.

Our Football, Soccer, All-County Band and Chorus to be recognized at the School Board Meeting at 5:30.

Basketball will play at home on Tuesday versus Arndt and will play away at Maiden on Thursday. Wrestling will be away at Arndt on Tuesday and home on Thursday versus Maiden.

We will have our winter Chrous concert on Thursday at 7pm.

Friday is our next PBIS major reward and the conclusion of the first semester. We encourage all students make sure they have any grades and missing assignments turned in by the end of the week.

3 Hour Delay for December 13th, 2019

Good afternoon, Due to the likelihood of freezing rain in the early morning hours, Newton-Conover City Schools will operate on a 3-hour delay for Students AND Staff for Friday, December 13. Kid Connection will also operate on a 3-hour delay at each of its sites. Again Newton-Conover City Schools will operate on a 3-hour delay for both Students AND Staff on Friday, December 13. Staff, parents, and students are asked to drive with extra caution in the morning as your safety is of the utmost importance.
