Weekly Announcements for October 21-25, 2019

Happy Sunday Red Devil Family. We hope that you have enjoyed your weekend so far. Here are our announcements for the week of October 21-25.

There is no school on Monday, October 21. This is an Optional Workday for staff.

Report cards are scheduled to go home this Friday, October 25th. Parents, please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.

The 2nd quarter officially starts on Tuesday, October 22.

This week, students will be taking their Case 21 benchmark assessments. These assessments are used to get an idea of how students are doing and determine what content gaps still remain at this point in the year.

In athletics; On Tuesday, Volleyball and Soccer will play away at Maiden. Thursday, both teams will play at home versus River Bend

On Wednesday, Football will be away at Riverbend.

Weekly Announcements for October 14-18, 2019

Good afternoon Red Devil family.

Here are your announcements for the week of October 14th through the 18th.

We would like to thank all the students who participated in dressing up for last week's spirit week. We enjoyed seeing students dressed up.

Progress reports went home this past Friday. Please encourage your students to complete assignments and turn in all missing work. The first quarter will end on October 18th. Report cards will go home on October 25th.

Just a reminder that NCMS does have attendance and tardy policies. We encourage students to be at school and on time each and every day. More information regarding our attendance and tardy policy can be found in our Parent/Student handbook that is linked on our school website.

In athletic news, our cross country team will be at River Bend on Monday. On Tuesday, soccer and volleyball will have games away at Mill Creek. On Wednesday, volleyball and soccer will have a make-up game at home versus Northview while football will have their last home game of the year. On Thursday, soccer and volleyball will once again be at home versus Arndt.


On Friday, October 18th, NCMS will have a United Way fundraiser day. Students may pay $1 to wear a hat to school.

Weekly Announcements October 7th -12th

Good afternoon Red Devil Family.
Here are your announcements for the week of October 7 through October 12.


This week is spirit week. Monday is pajama day, Tuesday is beach day, Wednesday is sports and college day, Thursday is decades day, and Friday is red, white, and black Red Devil pride day. All outfits will need to meet school dress code guidelines.

In athletics, Soccer and Volleyball will be at home on Tuesday taking on Jacobs Fork. On Wednesday, our football team will be traveling to take on Maiden. Volleyball and Soccer will play away on Thursday at Grandview.
The makeup day for last Thursday's soccer and volleyball games will be made up on October 16.


Parents, we are quickly approaching the end of the 1st 9 weeks. Please encourage your child to turn in all assignments and communicate with teachers if they are missing any work. Report cards will go out on October 25.

Change to start times of sporting events for the week of September 30-October 4

NCMS family, due to extremely high temperatures in the forecast for this week Catawba County middle school athletic events scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, October 2 and 3 have had a change in starting time in an effort to avoid some of the high temperatures.

The start time of the NCMS home football game vs Mill Creek at Newton-Conover high school that is scheduled for tomorrow Wednesday, October 2nd has been changed from 4:15 to 5:30.

The NCMS home soccer and home volleyball matches start time on Thursday, October 3rd have been changed from 4:00 to 5:30.

Please come out and support your Red Devils!”

Weekly Announcements for September 30-October 4, 2019

Good afternoon Red Devil Family. Here are your announcements for the week of September 30 through October 4.

Congratulations to our football and soccer teams for picking up wins last week. Our football team remains undefeated and our soccer team has only lost once so far this season. 

This week, soccer and volleyball will have an away game on Tuesday, October 1 at Riverbend Middle School.

On October 2, our football team will be at home to take on Mill Creek. This game will be played at NCHS.

Both volleyball and soccer will be at home on Thursday, to take on Northview Middle School.

Parents, just a reminder that Free or Reduced Lunch Forms need to be submitted by October 7th or benefits will expire. You must complete this each year to continue services. You can access these forms via our district website or by going to https://www.lunchapplication.com/

If your student owes money to our cafeteria, please make sure you are sending in payments to help keep our lunch debt down.

If any community members, churches, or businesses would like to sponsor a staff appreciation event, luncheon, etc. please contact our office. We appreciate your support.

Weekly Announcements September 23-27

Good afternoon N-CMS family. I hope that have enjoyed this weekend and the beautiful weather that went along with it.

Here are a few announcements for the week of September 23-27.

Cross Country will have a meet on Monday at Riverbend Middle School.

On Tuesday, volleyball and soccer will have games at Arndt Middle School.

Our Football team will play at N-CHS on Wednesday versus Arndt Middle School.

Both volleyball and soccer will be at home on Thursday to take on Maiden Middle School.

Parents, we are nearing the halfway point of the first quarter. Now is the perfect time to touch base with your child's teacher if you have any concerns about your student's performance so far.
