Greetings Red Devils!  My name is Billy Cannon and I am excited to be the Principal of Newton-Conover Middle School! As an Alumni of Newton-Conover, I am glad to be serving a school and community that means so much to me.  I look forward to working with students, staff, parents, and community members to provide the highest quality educational experiences possible.

I am a graduate of Newton-Conover High School. Upon graduating as a Red Devil, I ventured on to become a Bear at Lenoir-Rhyne University. While at LR,  I received a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education. After graduating from LR, I came back to Newton-Conover City Schools to work at Newton-Conover Middle School. Since joining N-CCS,  I have worked to earn a Masters degree in Middle Grades Education and an Add-On Licensure in School Administration, both from Appalachian State University.  I have served as an Assistant Principal at Newton-Conover High School, Principal at South Newton Elementary School, and I am now back home, where I started my educational journey at Newton-Conover Middle School.
