8th Grade Social Studies students have been working hard identifying and researching NC symbols. Students were then able to dig deeper with the book “T is for Tarheel” all about the ABCs of NC, identify key aspects of the text for their assigned letter, and create a visual representation of what they read with a 3d aspect. Here are a few of the finished products.

Mrs. Fecteau's math classes learned about different notation for multiplication last week. They had a funeral on the passing symbol "X" for multiplication since "X" will now be a variable for a missing value in expressions and equations.

Good Afternoon Red Devils,

This year, in an effort to recognize the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes, we are continuing a weekly honor: “The Hammer Award.” This award celebrates athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. Each recipient receives a T-shirt and is featured in a recognition post highlighting their accomplishments.

We are proud to announce that this week’s recipient of The Hammer Award is Emma G. Emma is a dedicated cheerleader who brings energy and enthusiasm to every practice and performance. Whether she’s leading cheers on the sidelines or encouraging her teammates, her positive attitude is contagious.

Emma also works hard off the field in the classroom, maintaining straight A’s and always willing to work hard and be challenged in anything she does. She balances her responsibilities well, showing that it’s possible to excel both in academics and extracurricular activities. Her hard work and spirit make her a great role model for others.

📣 N-CMS Red Devil Family Weekly Announcements
Week of September 8–12, 2025

⏰ Morning Arrival & Tardy Policy Reminder

Parents, please remember:

If your student arrives after 7:40 a.m., a parent or guardian must sign them in at the front office.

Do not drop off students and leave—this is a safety concern, and we want to ensure all students are supervised.

Tardy documentation will begin Monday, September 8.
Students must be in their homeroom by 7:40 a.m. to avoid being marked tardy.

🕒 Tip: Arriving before 7:38 a.m. gives students enough time to:

Drop off band instruments

Eat breakfast

Store sports bags

Head to lockers
...and still get to homeroom on time.

📝 Progress Reports

Progress Reports will be sent home on Friday, September 19.
