6th grade students worked on math and ELA assignments related to the story told in Hidden Figures. Students built a timeline after reading biographies, designed their own rockets using geometry, practiced other math skills using the contexts of the the Hidden Figure story, and read passages about NASA and the women portrayed in Hidden Figures to answer comprehension questions.

Catherine Lundberg, Life Coach at Clarity Life Coaching visited Mr. Brotherton's 7th grade CTE Business and Leadership class. Class discussions were based on goals in life and what steps can be taken to make progress towards those aspirations. "What is the difference between a winner and a loser? The winner took another chance and succeeded."

Health Science CTE classes had a guest speaker recently. Ms. Elyse Drum, OT. Ms. Drum introduced the Occupational Therapy career option to the students which included what type of illnesses or injuries are common, the types of settings where an OT would work, and she also brought several tools of the trade for the students to guess and see if they could determine how the device might help a patient.
