Last school year, N-CMS had the highest academic growth in the district. Even more exciting, for the first time in our school’s history, N-CMS exceeded growth according to the NC state accountability model!
But there is an even bigger accomplishment that we want our entire school community to celebrate:
N-CMS has now met or exceeded academic growth for FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS!
This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families. Our teachers continue to set high expectations, use data to guide instruction, provide additional support when students need it, and believe in the potential of every child. Our students have demonstrated perseverance and a commitment to learning, and our families continue to partner with us in supporting their success.

October 16: 1st Quarter Report Card and Parent/Teacher Conference Day. Parents, this is an opportunity for you to drop by the school between 8–11:30 a.m. and 1–3 p.m. to meet with your child’s teachers and pick up your child’s report card.
October 30: School Halloween PBIS Dance during the school day. Tickets will be sold October 21–28 during HR. $5 for students. Honor Card Holders: $3.
Spirit Days in October
October 2: Pink Out – wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
October 9: Red, White, and Black – wear our school colors and show your Red Devil Pride!
October 23: Pajama Day – wear your comfiest pajamas.

Sarah shows up to every practice ready to learn, grow, and improve in her position on the team. She always brings a positive attitude, is reliable, and never hesitates to try something new, whether it's part of the routine or a new cheer. She truly brings the good vibes every day!
Sarah also does an amazing job in the classroom, finishing last year with A's in all of her classes! She is off to another amazing start this school year, continuing to demonstrate excellence both on and off the court.

Audrey is this week’s Hammer Student Athlete of the Week!
Audrey demonstrated great leadership in Tuesday’s win over Northview. In a game that featured several lead changes, Audrey did a great job keeping the team loose, focused, and composed. She also contributed 5 kills in the match to help lead the Red Devils to victory!
Audrey also does an excellent job off the court in the classroom. She is a Silver Card holder and consistently performs well above expectations.
